Quiet tree-lined residential street in the North Austin area

Relocation

Relocating to North Austin without wasting a trip

Moving from out of town means making big decisions with limited information. Lori's job is to close that gap: honest area orientation, remote touring, and a move sequence that fits your calendar.

How it works

A relocation plan built around one trip, not five

The order matters. Narrowing remotely first is what makes an in-person visit productive.

  1. 1

    Start with a discovery call

Where will you work or commute? What does a good weekend look like? Do you need acreage, a lake, a short drive, or a specific home style? This conversation shapes everything that follows.

  2. 2

Narrow the map before you book a trip

We rule areas in and out remotely so your visit is spent in three or four realistic neighborhoods rather than a scattered loop across the metro.

  3. 3

    Tour remotely first

Video walkthroughs, neighborhood drive-throughs and honest commentary on what the listing photos leave out. Many relocation clients shortlist entirely this way.

  4. 4

    Plan a focused visit

A well-built two-day itinerary usually beats a week of improvising: showings clustered by area, plus time to sit in traffic at the hour you'd actually drive it.

  5. 5

Write with your timeline in mind

Lease end dates, a home to sell elsewhere, a start date at a new job — all of these belong in the offer terms, from closing date to possession.

  6. 6

    Coordinate the logistics

Movers, utilities, vehicle registration, driver's license, insurance and school enrollment all have their own sequence. The moving checklist keeps it in order.

Commute times, tax rates, school attendance zones, utility providers and community amenities change and should be verified with the relevant authority. Nothing here is legal, tax, insurance or lending advice, and nothing here is a representation about school quality, safety, demographics or future property values.

Orientation

How North Austin actually fits together

North of Austin, the metro spreads along a few main corridors. Understanding that shape makes the neighborhood names much easier to place.

The 183A corridor

Cedar Park and Leander sit along this tolled corridor, which is why so much newer housing has been built along it.

The I-35 spine

Round Rock and north Austin proper follow I-35, closer to major employers and older, established retail.

Toward the lake

Head west and the terrain becomes Hill Country: Lago Vista and the Lake Travis area, where views and topography drive home design.

The northern edge

Liberty Hill and the areas beyond trade drive time for lot size and a quieter pace.

Housing age tells the story

Roughly speaking, the further out you move, the newer the housing stock and the larger the lots for a given budget.

Verify before you commit

Districts, utility providers, HOAs and special assessments differ street to street. We confirm specifics on any home you get serious about.
